A. In a laboratory setting, the most common method is to either make a weight/weight dilution (10-20 g Alconox detergent in 990 g of water), or a weight/volume dilution (10-20 g Alconox in 990 mL of water) for 1-2% solutions.

ALCONOX consists primarily of a homogeneous blend of sodium linear alkylaryl sulfonate, alcohol sulfate, phosphates, carbonates. ALCONOX is anionic in nature.

Is alconox a disinfectant?

Alconox Inc. does not have disinfectant claims on any detergents, including the Tergazyme® Enzyme Active Powdered Detergent. However, any thorough cleaning and rinse with a well-built aqueous detergent (like all Alconox Inc. detergents) will leave the surface in a minimal (if not zero) bioburden state.

Is washing powder a solvent?

Answer: Because they are inexpensive. Detergent products are much better for you and your piping system. If you don’t need to wash using any water (Waterless), it is a solvent product.

Is powdered detergent a solute or solvent?

Soaps/detergents are not solvents themselves, but they both act to improve the solvency of water.

Do alconox brands contain residual solvent ingredients?

A. Alconox brands do not contain class 1, class 2, class 3 or class 4 residual solvent ingredients. In the lower left hand corner of all certificates of analysis (COA) have the statement “Contains no class 1, class 2, class 3, or class 4 residual solvent ingredients as defined by ICH Q3C guidelines.”

Does alconox or liquinox contain 1,4-dioxane?

Sometimes people inadvertently refer to Liquinox as Alconox because it is made by Alconox, inc. Liquinox cleaner is a nonionic detergent and does contain extreme trace levels of 1,4-Dioxane. In general most detergents with nonionic surfactant ingredients will have trace 1,4 Dioxane as a trace impurity from the ethylene oxide condensed polymers that are part of most nonionic surfactants.

What is low foam detergent?

A. Alcojet® Low Foaming Powdered Detergent is designed for use in automated cleaning applications that require no foam problems. Alcojet detergent has an anti-foam agent that becomes effective at circa 110 deg F (45 deg C).
