LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The pandemic-delayed 2021 Los Angeles Marathon has been rescheduled for November 7, organizers announced Monday. The 36th edition of the annual race was originally set for March 21, then pushed to May 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The change was made because “the dramatically increased costs quoted by the city of Santa Monica for the 2021 running of the marathon, and future events, made remaining in Santa Monica financially infeasible,” according to the foundation.

Is the LA marathon Hilly?

Luckily it is net downhill but most of the downhill is in the first 2 miles and last 3 so there is a lot of uphill in the middle. There are only 2 bigger hills in the first few miles downtown but lots of slight inclines throughout the race. The course is designed to go through as many landmarks as possible.
