What happened to the hound’s face in Game of Thrones?
You might have noticed the Hound’s severe facial scarring, clearly caused by traumatic burns. That came from an incident between the two when they were children, which found the Hound playing with one of the Mountain’s toys and the latter shoving his face into burning coals as retaliation.

Was the Hound a kingsguard?
Sandor Clegane, popularly known as the Hound, was the younger brother of Ser Gregor Clegane and the personal bodyguard of Prince Joffrey Baratheon. When Joffrey ascended the Iron Throne, Sandor was named into his Kingsguard (despite not being a knight), but deserted his post at the Battle of the Blackwater.
